A goal tells your Ghost about the content you want it to look for and fetch from social media. Each Ghost on PitchGhost has its own goal.

A goal is the main objective for what kind of you content you want a Ghost to find for you.

Crafting a clear goal is crucial. Describe what you need as if explaining to someone familiar with your industry but not your daily tasks.

💡 Tip: write your goal as if you were communicating your strategy to an intern.

Bad goal examples	Good goal examples
“AI marketing tools”	“Find posts in which people are talking about the AI tools they use for marketing. These might include reviews, shout outs or negative experiences. I want to be able to suggest PitchGhost as a new marketing tool that they could try instead.”
“Find people talking about my competitors”	“Find posts in which people are talking about my competitors, so I can monitor the sentiment amongst our shared target audience, and potentially pitch PitchGhost as an alternative or consideration. Some of my competitors include Mention and Sprout Social, but if you find any others that also provide social listening capabilities, include them as well.”
“Find customers for PitchGhost”	“Find conversations that would be good sales opportunities for PitchGhost. Our ICP includes growth marketers, content marketers and salespeople who are interested in growth hacking or leveraging social media for revenue growth and brand awareness. An example of a good conversation that I would like to be a part of could be of a marketer saying they have found a lot of success using LinkedIn to boost meetings booked. Do not show me posts from my competitors, or people praising my competitors.
